integrity & trustworthiness

Committed to the people and families in Northwest Arkansas.

I grew up in Hot Springs, Arkansas before moving to Fayetteville in 1996. I began working at J.B. Hunt in 2000 as a single mother to two precious girls. In 2003, I realized that I needed to complete my undergraduate degree that I had once pursued before becoming a young mother. I was a recipient of the Single Parent Scholarship in Benton County which allowed me to work full-time, while taking classes at NWACC part-time. I remarried in 2005 and had a son in 2007. I was able to complete my undergraduate degree in 2009, receiving a B.A. in psychology from the University of Arkansas. While studying psychology at the U of A, I worked as a research assistant with the Peer Safety Project. I went to local elementary schools and mentored children who had been identified as victims of bullying. I thoroughly enjoyed that experience and I knew that I wanted to find a career focused on helping children and families. In 2010, my step son came to live with us full-time. I received my juris doctorate from the University of Arkansas School of Law in 2012, while raising 4 very active kids ranging from ages 13 to 5.

I am involved in my church, teaching 4 year olds on Sunday mornings,  and we are a part of a local community group. My kids are very involved in sports, music and dance and that keeps us very busy. I also have 4 rescue dogs who are like family members to us. In fact, my true passion is to one day start a dog rescue for senior dogs. We have fostered for the Springdale Animal Shelter and have volunteered and donated to local rescues who need the resources and funds to pull these animals out of the shelters and rehome them while in foster care.
